A wonderful love letter to the Ottawa metal scene filled with great memories. Nice job, Murph!
Love the book and thank you Sean. A beautiful journey of what rock’n roll was all about in the Ottawa region circa the 80’s and 90’s. It brought back lots of memories !
SEAN , GREAT BOOK. THANK YOU SO MUCH. HISTORY AND FUN TIMES !
Just finished this book, loved it! It was great to learn about some of these local bands, some I saw live, some I never heard of but very glad Sean took the time to do this research of this amazing time in Ottawa. I read a chapter a day and tried to find some live stuff or music on youtube and on Spotify while reading about each band. A nice addition to my other books from Jim Hurcomb about Ottawa's music history :)
Being a band of the early-to-late 90s in Ottawa, we only occasionally heard of the legends that preceded us. Sean’s book is an illuminating and exhaustive deep dive into the scene and giants whose shoulders we stood on. It’s a necessary but really fun read whether you tried your hand at music in Ottawa or anywhere else. The struggles were real everywhere for this type of music. Bravo!
I am having such a trip down memory lane reading this book
Awesome read
Wow, what a ride!! Ottawa was so vibrant during the 80's & 90's with hard rock & metal. Sean has captured the era with such personal familiarity (both his & mine). The names , the bands, the venues , the stores all were captured with the same excitement & awe that I both participated in and attended . Even the few items I was unfamiliar with became clear the 6 degrees of separation. If I didn't know, I knew someone in who did. Great fun and easy read, Bravo Mr Murphy!!!
The book was a great insight into the history of ottawa metal with funny anecdotes. A great read. Smooth!
